Richard Siskey Announces Annual "Be a Community Star" Auction
The Richard C. Siskey Family YMCA is poised to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Charlotte, North Carolina community.
CHARLOTTE, NC, September 11, 2011 /Finance PR News/ -- Among Charlotte residents, Richard (Rick) Siskey is known not only as an astute businessman, but as a loyal contributor to the community. While Rick Siskey has had many opportunities to serve Charlotte through the United Way and local colleges and organizations, the Richard C. Siskey Family YMCA remains one of the accomplishments of which he is most proud.
Each year, the Richard C. Siskey Family YMCA hosts "Be a Community Star," an auction to benefit those in need in Charlotte. Over the six years "Be a Community Star" has taken place, more than $750,000 has been raised. Rick Siskey is proud to say every dime of that $750,000 has gone back into the community.
As Chairman of Siskey Industries, LLC, and founder of Wall Street Capitol, Rick Siskey believes in honor and integrity as more important than all other qualities. In fact, it was Rick Siskey's civic contributions and support for the YMCA that prompted that organization to name a facility in his honor. Through the annual Community Star event, Rick Siskey remains committed to supporting the activities and programs of the YMCA.
To Rick Siskey, Charlotte is home. A 26-year resident of the city, Siskey was dubbed by Greater Charlotte Biz magazine as having "an uncanny ability to discern situations in advance." It is a skill that has served him well in providing financial services to others. As Chairman of Siskey Industries, Rick Siskey provides strategies and consulting to business-owner clients.
Rick Siskey earned an MBA from McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. A former member of the National Speakers Association, he lectures on a wide variety of topics, both inspirational and business-related. Despite all of his success, Richard Siskey has never let go of what is most important. "Whatever you are going after, make sure you are creating something unique and special and you're touching people's lives," Siskey says. "At the end of the day, that's the only thing that's going to be remembered."
The YMCA shares Richard Siskey's commitment to integrity. Founded in London in 1844, the Y began by providing an alternative to men needing to escape the dangerous influences on the streets. Over the years, notes Rick Siskey, the Y has continued its commitment of helping within the community, providing numerous outreach programs, as well as an opportunity to learn, grow, and become healthier.
